As a retired Brit residing on the Cote d'Azur I needed a useful hobby to soak up the sunny days. Having always had a passing interest in photography I decided that the south of France offered plenty of photo opportunities ranging from stunning landscapes, to the annual Monaco F1 Grand Prix.
I treated myself to a Nikon D90 and a modest range of lenses and lighting accessories. At the same time I upgraded my PC to a 27" iMac, which gives me the best possible platform from which to manage my photo collection.
On the advice of a professional photographer acquaintance, I have made a few self-imposed rules. I use only Aperture 3 software to file and process my photographs. I limit any processing to what was achievable in the "wet" development days i.e. cropping, brightness and saturation.
I don't see the point of taking pictures if you can't share them somehow and this photoblog seems a good way to achieve this. At this stage there is not much content but optimistically this will improve as time passes.
I'm just beginning on a journey of discovery with my D90.
